    Too many people are like this. It artificially inflates unemployment numbers. Unemployment is "ready, willing and able" to work.

    Manager, Arena Operations - Florida Panthers (Coral Springs, FL)

    JOB DESCRIPTION / REQUIREMENTS:

    Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment throughout the facility including: 3 Ice Surfaces, 125,000 sq ft facility, including 16,000 sq ft training center, 2 refrigeration plants, 3 ice surfacers, HVAC equipment, and other routine maintenance to help insure proper and safe operation of the facility on a daily basis.
    Organize and manage service contracts the facility has with outside vendors on routine maintenance and preventative maintenance upkeep of the facility to ensure compliance with terms of contract.
    Prepare and manage annual operations budget.
    Manage, train and motivate a department of up to twelve employees.
    Adequately schedule all full-time and part-time Operations Department employees while adhering to budgetary parameters.
    Purchase all materials required for the Operations Department
    Responsible for all housekeeping and general maintenance of the facility on a daily basis.
    Responsible for OSHA compliance of systems and resources for facility.
    Attend weekly staff meetings and give input regarding all related building issues.
    Other duties as assigned by management.

    Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications
    5 years proven facility management experience including 2 + years of supervisory responsibilities.
    Extensive knowledge of ice facility operations including refrigeration equipment and ice resurfacers
    Self-motivated, energetic team player able to deal with an extremely fast paced environment
    Sound organizational, coordinating, time-management, and personal interface skills
    Familiarity with both hockey and figure skating requirements
    Flexibility with work schedule- nights, weekends, and holidays.

    SUMMARY:
    As a member of the Creative Service team, this individual will assist in the visual execution of creative strategies for mar/comm materials, collateral, advertising, identity development and design from creative conception through final production.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Working alongside and taking direction from sr. creatives this designer will translate business objectives, concepts and information into visually compelling designs under tight deadlines.?Works within established NHL Brand guidelines, while giving creative flair to designing promotional material; direct mail, catalogs, print advertisements, reports, invitations, packaging, logos, retail and event graphics, flyers, e-blasts, and other collateral.?Ability to take direction from senior creatives, able to follow instructions, work in a group setting as well as have own conceptual skills.?Builds an understanding of the strategy, audience and objectives behind design projects and provides creative design solutions.?Ensures the communication of a consistent company image through design development and projects.?Executes assigned design projects through completion.?Ensures all projects conform to quality standards and deadlines.?Works collaboratively with vendors and internal departments to reach the best quality and cost effective solution for each design project.?Copies and prepares final art files for release according to production specifications.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must have a minimum of 3+ years of design experience, preferably with an in house design group, professional sports or Entertainment background. Must have a solid understanding of design principles, typography and the design process and be knowledgeable of current trends. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environment. Motivated self starter with the ability work well under pressure and in a team environment. Flexible hours. Portfolio samples showing recent and relevant work must be submitted for consideration.

    Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field.

    Strong oral and written communication skills. Problem solver with proven ability to visually communicate brand strategies that resonate with and engage fans/consumers. Demonstrated mastery of CS5 - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PPT. Experience with Flash/html5 helpful.

    Note: When you apply for this job online, you will be required to answer the following questions:
    1. Do you have a minimum of 3 years of design experience, preferably within an in-house design group and/or the sports/entertainment industry?
