Sharpshooter
I like the addition, it's just what they need, but I think it's a year or two too long and $600,000 - $1,000,000 too much. But, he was big depth piece on a team that won back-to-back Stanley Cups. He cashed in.
Sharpshooter
Signing details: That's not terribly structured, I suppose.
ThirtyONE
Rather him at that price and length than Hyman who they apparently made an offer to as well. Good move.

Yeah, I didn't like what I was hearing regarding Hyman. That would have been an overpayment.
RichieNextel305
All in all, not a bad contract. It was needed. It was never coming dirt cheap. But it’s a good move.
CBrowningPI
Good. That's done, now let's get to the meat and potatoes.

Sod16
So now 3rd liners get 15 team no-trades? Ok, so let's move on and let the next shoe (bomb) drop.
TwoMinutesForNothing
This is pretty shitty, but whatever. Hopefully he's effective for a couple years. I'll root for the player and not hold the contract against him. I'll hold that against Drury, who thus far seems more desperate and incompetent than our previous 2 GM's. He was a disappointment as a player here, so the same should be expected in this role.
Kevin
Didn't expect to see a no-trade clause but whatever...those seem to be able to be worked around if necessary.
Slobberknocker
That's not terribly structured, I suppose. do the signing bonuses hit in the year they are given or are they pro rated. if they hit in the year the back end becomes manageable. Albatrosss
to me he's a fourth liner, therefore overpayed
Phil
So now 3rd liners get 15 team no-trades? Ok, so let's move on and let the next shoe (bomb) drop. Highly-sought after players get them, yes. A 15-team list isn't going to stop them from moving on if and when they decide to. The contract is structured to make him much more attractive for years five and six. TwoMinutesForNothing
Desperate? What did he do to give that impression? Overpay Goodrow by 10%? Sign him at all rather then developing this type of player considering the other young players we will have to pay. It's a waste of money but whatever, he and Dolan are exhibiting no patience. I'm half sure Drury is just a hand puppet at this point.

If developing a Goodrow were so easy Tampa wouldn't have traded a first for him and the Rangers wouldn't have been one of a number of interested parties in signing him.
