Tom Wilson Fined $5K for Roughing Buchnevich; Rangers Release Statement

Recommended Posts

The NHL is just lucky that nobody has died over the last 60 years, in which we've seen this exact thing 460,000 times. Incredibly lucky that this wasn't the one.

And the rabbit punch to Buchnevich's shoulder/face (same thing) holy smokes. This man is a clear sociopath and should probably be in jail.

The Buchnevich aspect is the weakest one of the sequence. Grabbing a player by his hair and pulling him to the ice without a helmet is not something that happens 460,000 times, nor is it trivial. Ice is just frozen concrete. That force, no helmet, can easily crack someone's skull open.

Horseshit. The fact that the NBC broadcasters couldn't stop mentioning the poor response by the DPoS, and continually said "If they did the right thing and suspended Wilson, none of this would be happening. ". If those schmoes are saying it, I'd think most of the league has the same position.

No way. Bullshit. Who ever wrote this is a fucking league schill.

There's no fucking way anyone from around the league backs Parros decision here.

David Amber said he asked around and (I think) he said most people agreed with it. That would be.. Actual hockey people.

Amber also said he agreed with it.

This is why Parros has the job and not some random guy hired from who knows where. Parros would actually have good insight in to what's normal, and what isn't. How the context around it factors in, etc, etc.

Whos David Amber?

Look at responses on social media from players and former players. Actual hockey people. They are not ok with it.

Nameless "hockey people " isn't proof.

Parrots being head of DPoS is the inmate running the asylum.

Wilson's the kind of guy who will probably end someone's career or wind up getting McSorely'd, which would be nice to see.

Again, there were better players than Wilson who were also the toughest people on the planet who didn't participate in the crap that Wilson does.

He's the kind of guy that when they suffer a career ending injury, you kind of just smirk and move on.

In fairness its hard to compare players from past eras. Scott Stevens would have been suspended forever for his hit on Lindros and Kariaya. Also our hero Mark Messier was no saint. How many for this......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVyRVDEoQ9c

That's fine, they were playing a game that was appropriate to the time. The NHL isn't about that anymore.

Again, there are all so players like Probert who would not even bother to engage somebody 5 in and 50 lbs below them in weight class.

Plain and simple, Wilson is a bully who's only a bully due to his size. He seems to me to be the type of player who wouldn't be pulling the stuff he pulls if he was Matt Cook size. It's easy to be the tough guy when you're the biggest kid on the block.
