gdt: [RS] (#1) Rangers vs. New York Islanders // Release the Mantis!

Woeful start to a very demanding season. The daily grind will surely be the real test as to how this team plays going forward. As a Y*A*Y*S*A*Y*E*R I say:

 

Very disappointing effort but only one game. Miller and Laf will grow and get better but no excuse for the vets. I hate the islanders!

The only good takeaway may be that Howden went 7-4 on faceoffs 64% and was zero +/- while playing 6 minutes of his 16 minutes on the penalty kill.

Howden was actually fine, so were Rooney and Lemieux. There's no talent there, yet, they were more effective than the other three lines that ooze talent. Simple hockey, is effective hockey.

Scary when Howden is considered one of the better players of the game...that says a lot!!! ...or a little, I'm not sure!!

 

I kept thinking "peashooter" every time he got the puck!! Thanks Pete!! Now I'm scarred for life!!!!! :rofl:

Let's just own it - yesterday sucked ass. That was rough.

 

In the grand scheme of things? We're the youngest team in the league by a year. The most games anyone on this team has played since March 10, 2020 is like...3. They looked like a team full of young players who haven't played competitive hockey in 10 months who got punched in the face early by a veteran team who played a hell of a lot more games in that same timespan and didn't know how to respond.

 

Much more interested in seeing how they respond on Saturday.

Yes and yes I don't there was one good thing about last night PK, PP, 5-on-5, and goaltending it all sucked.

Even the new camera angle sucked.
