Yes, that's true, Minnesota does continue to take part in the NHL entry draft.

Seems to me that playing 18 YO's that have little business in the league on bloated, bonus laden, ELCs doesn't work, all the while sitting on the GDP of Ethiopia in dead cap space.

We wait 5-7 years to even see if this works.

We took the easy way out.

Nah, the rebuild was always some part drafting the building blocks of the future and another part stocking the cupboard with trade chips. If the Rangers were an asset portfolio, they'd be way too heavy in prospects to get max value. The next stage of the rebuild is packaging some of the 'look good enough now but make not make the cut" prospects and draft picks into filling the remaining holes with good hockey players. Whether it's Eichel or someone else or some other combination of people, it's on Gorton to shift to the (Tampa) Yzerman role and take advantage of all the GMs who have expressed admiration for the Rangers rebuild to make the last key moves here in the coming summer or even next season. But this is not the final product that we just sit and wait to gel - or not. (Or it better not be.)

thoughts?

https://www.radio.com/weei/sports/bruins/brandon-carlo-taken-to-hospital-after-tom-wilson-hit-to-head

Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy revealed during his postgame press conference that defenseman Brandon Carlo was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after getting hit in the head by Capitals forward Tom Wilson during the first period of Friday night’s 5-1 Bruins win at TD Garden.

This is the shit the NHL doesn't need and Carlo had to be taken to the hospital.

Unbelievable that this thug continues to operate in the NHL, for fuck's sake.

You mean like the first 2-3 years of Eriksson Ek and Greenway's careers?

Also, the Wild are racking up wins against the Ducks, Wild, Coyotes, and Sharks. Under 500 against the Aves and Knights, and haven't played the Blues yet.

The Wild are no where near done rebuilding and aren't close to contending.
