He was mostly a ghost, but he's still better, and more useful, than 25% of our forwards.
It’s Jimmy fucking Vesey. It’s less that he was put on waivers and more that his star outshined Toronto.
Detroit svechnikov cleared. Surprised nobody nabbed him. Producing a bit, low paid RFA.
Feels like nobody’s getting claimed. Waivers helping roster management due to covid so maybe there’s some collusion among GMs?

Was thinking something like this aswell.
Just so many «good» players on waivers that some shit teams could use and afford (cap wise atleast).
I guess teams dont want to take risk with covid and everything, but its weird. Has there even been one player claimed?

Who?

It's not collusion -- it's compensation. Guys like Ghost are paid real dollars teams don't have to pay them. The Penguins, for example, went into the season with an internal cap nearly $20 million below the cap ceiling.

There are just so many teams with negative or extremely limited cap space. So few teams are in any position where they want to add anything cap wise that includes a cap hit next year.
I am a little surprised in Schvenikov clearing. His cap is not bad and even though he has arbi rights next year, he’s not exactly producing at a point to demand anything. Young with top 6 scouting report talent. Surprised no one took a chance.

Full waivers:
Kyle Turris (Edm), Paul Byron (Mtl), Nikita Gusev (NJ), Kenneth Appleby (NYI), Clark Bishop (Ott) placed on waivers.
And Sabres claim Caggiula.

Bye Bye ByeNikita Gusev on unconditional waivers for purposes of termination. Has not played since March 20, as young players take over in NJ. Was on waivers 9 days ago, but hit of $4.5M made it untradeable, unfortunately. This creates possibility of signing elsewhere at a lower number.
I'd claim him and bail on Hajek.
