You want the higher seeds out early that way when Carolina does get eliminated, hopefully before the ECF, it will result in a lower pick. If I have this correct our 1st rounder from Carolina, which was 24 at best if they advanced, just moved to 23 at worst and will move up one spot each for either of the Isles or Canucks advancing and another spot in the unlikely event that the Habs come back to win.
