Now that we won the lottery I’m not opposed to packaging Carolinas pick along with one of Strome/Buch and a bitter piece to get a better Center or Dman

imo Tony balks and ends up elsewhere, Strome I think might consider it. I could see ADA dismissing it out of hand, there's already some history of him holding out when he had no leverage whatsoever.

Man envisioning Kakko at 7.5M is such a stretch based on his play last year, I guess he could get there, maybe? I think the Devils are hoping Nico eventually grows into that contract but it was somewhat of a gamble which could go either way, worth a shot for them.

It highlights that they need to start hitting on some of the young guys they bring in whether its a draft pick or trade. Maybe even getting crazy and developing 1 or 2 through the system. Time for some guys to step up and take a bigger step forward.

Things get super simple cap-wise if Hank retires. Buyout Staal. If not, buyout Hank & Staal ($16.5M in dead space next year, $5M the following year, $2.5M the year after)
