Well, there were issues when AV was brought in from playing a completely different style than Torts. Same thing anytime a new player was brought in, it took time for them to adjust.

In the grand scope of damage control, I imagine that actually would be successful, seeing as we'd be looking at something like 10x that without containment measures.

In the grand scope of pandemic management, it'd be a horrendous outcome.
I'm not sure 240k is going to be an accurate number. Perhaps over a 4 or 5 month window, but I don't see how the number isn't much larger across a longer period of time after containment measures are relaxed. It will still spread unless we have some incredible breakthrough that allows a vaccine to be mass produced in a miraculously short amount of time. At the same time, I never got the flu shot and I've never gotten the flu. I did get the flu shot for the first time this year because of my newborn. I know this isn't the flu, but it spreads similarly through the air. So who knows? Maybe some are more susceptible to getting it than others?

My greater point is that the statute of limitations on the "blame the other guy" defense has lapsed by a significant amount.

    No such threshold in politics.

True public servants are able to overcome such obstacles. But we dont have those in our govt.

who knew 29>53. Really wish he wouldn't go here at this time. One it's not the time or place and two it's simply yet another alternative fact.

I realize I'm in the minority on here, but I always thought Obama was a narcissist. I think Trump has him beat though. Everything is about him.

'...I'm not talking about America today. All of this happened over two decades ago, in my home country of South Africa, where for years President Thabo Mbeki refused to deal with the HIV/AIDS epidemic rampaging across the nation. By the time he did, South Africans had paid a terrible price. And while the differences between HIV/AIDS and Covid-19 are myriad, some stark lessons from the past have crystallized for me. Over the past few weeks, I have watched and listened as President Donald Trump got off to a stumbling start with echoes of Mbeki's mistakes. For those of us who have witnessed both Mbeki's long denial of the AIDS epidemic and Trump's response to the coronavirus emergency, there are alarming similarities between these men's behavior at the early stages of a public health crisis. The most simple and heartbreaking connection between both is that their delayed response impacted the lives of those they swore an oath to protect. In South Africa, a doctoral thesis by a student at the Harvard School of Public Health estimated more than 330,000 South Africans unnecessarily died between 2000-2005 because of the Mbeki government's obstruction of treatment.'

The State TV machine comically back tracking is one for the ages. I don't watch Fox News, but based on these clips, it's apparent that they exist not to actually report news, but to mock the outlets who report actual facts.

Eight states still without stay-at home orders.

Ideally for quarantines to work, they should be simultaneous, to flatten the curve everywhere. Too many links on epidemiology, multiple waves of infection below.

Rode my bike about 10 miles yesterday to a local park and saw groups of people walking through. Appalling, really.

You should’ve stopped and asked them if they were Trump supporters
