If you look at the glass as half full, the Rangers have 4 less wins than Washington and Pittsburgh. This team can beat any other team on any given night but the playoffs are a different animal and the top teams would take only 5 games to knock this team out. Islanders don’t score.

Columbus is too banged up.

Carolina is a 1 line team with injury issues.

Florida is even worse defensively than the Rangers are.

 

Over the last 10 games, at 8-2-0, Rangers have best record in NHL.

It’s a good experience for the kids. Playing meaningful games now is great for them, even if they don’t make it.

And if they do, which I think they will, getting their feet wet in the playoffs is a good thing.

 

3 weeks ago their postseason odds were about 1%.

Now those odds are above 33%.

My expectations wouldn't necessarily be high if they got in. But, the NHL is one of those sports where if you get in, you just never know.
