When you vying for a Cup, every dollar counts.Could easily pay the salary of top 6 forward or a top 4 D for the rest of the season. Basically he's a healthy scratch the rest of the season and not really in the minors. May come a day NYR needs such a break running up to the playoffs, but would rather the NHL stops with the nonsense. Small market teams will always have a shorter window than big market teams, and teams with dumb management will always be bad.The supposed parity of the cap won't ever change that.
