Not a huge fan of Vally's but hearing him basically say Hank is mentally out of it is sobering at best. Possible good news, both backups may play tonight at this rate. He’s shown flashes and the skill set is there. Undeniably It was possible he’d be able to make an immediate impact. But it was also possible he’d struggle like he has. And I think the organization feels it’s better to have him learn and struggle while playing at the NHL level, than send him to the A. He’d probably go down there and be great. What would it really prove or accomplish? Hed still have to adjust and learn at NHL level after the fact. Any boost his confidence got from excelling in Hartford would just be after his confidence took a shot from being sent down. I know they want to be consistent wit their prospects.
