My Hughes > Kakko post was completely facetious.

 

Man. I feel like if you like Kakko you all of a sudden have to hate and denigrate Hughes. The tone in Rangers land since we got the #2 pick instead of the #1 pick has been that Kakko is better anyway. That's insane.

 

Kakko looked amazing. Hughes looked one pick better. Carry on.

Seriously. A no. 2 pick for the first time in forever and it's not good enough? Hughes and Kakko are both going to be great, stop worrying so much.

In fact, it's the handful of people obsessing over the (factual) comment that Hughes had a better PRESEASON game who are overreacting.

To be fair it was the rangers c squad out there. It was 8 nhl’rs vs the devils top line and top defense.

 

While I think it was stupid to break up the teams in the two games like Quinn did, I guess he wanted to see what this squad had to offer. Lindgren and howden were noticeable. Huska looked good.

 

At the end of the day it’s preseason I wouldn’t worry too much. 20 games in if they look like this then I’d worry.

The devils D was one quality pair and four AHL'ers. I think the devils bottom 6 forwards were spare parts too with maybe McLoed (sp) being a guy that will make the opening night roster. Overall it was an ugly but mostly meaningless effort. Although if we were hoping to be surprised by someone unexpectedly I didn't see it. Just a bad game, onto the next one. I do hope they make a ton of cuts sooner rather than later to get a better understanding of where we are at this point.

After the opening minute giveaway, I thought Howden did at least well enough to declare that he's not going to cede the 3C vs 4C competition with Lias. Let them both play better for it.

I thought the Rangers “best” players played like the Rangers worst players. Last night didn’t show anything, other than, again, there’s a while before this squad gets it together.

Didn’t watch the game but are we really shitting on Kakko here. This threads a bit laughable
