    I've lived in the Northeast, South, Midwest, West Coast, Rocky Mountains, in urban, suburban, rural settings. When I meet people I treat them as individuals. I know people that pick their noses, have strong religious views (while I'm an atheist), have politics I don't agree with, and have some views I don't agree with. I don't have to agree with someone 100% to love them or be friendly with them, and I learn more from people that are more different than I am.

    I also view people differently if I'm in a restaurant, school, a crappy neighborhood alley at 4 AM, or a Confederate biker bar. I'm more alert in some situations times/days. I notice people more when I'm more alert - and based by attire, non-verbal body language clues, speech volume, etc I identify outliers (different than other folks in my immediate environment). So when I'm in that sketchy location at the wrong time of day/night, I prejudge who might be a potential nuisance/threat. That's the closest to prejudiced you could call me.

    There's no 'better' people in any part of the country, socio-economic class, ethnicity, etc. By throwing a person into a group you've already stopped treating them like an individual, and grouped them to be like the other people that you know in that group. And you're missing out on what makes that person an individual and cool. People have different motivations - family, god, country, neighborhood, money, food, sex, shelter - and it's interesting in what makes them tick.

    My take-home point in this post is that it's best for me to treat people as individuals and learn from them based on their experiences. Apologies if it seemed like I was putting some groups in higher esteem than others.

    Any company that allows, or worse, encourages hiring on a race or look a like basis rather than job fit / qualifications does in FACT have a shitty hiring process. And to brag about it means you agree with it.

    on top of that, if you're a woman you can get all kinds of grants (free money) from the gov't if you decide to open your own business. and if you are a woman and a minority, then forget about it, the gov't will do cartwheels and give you money.
    its good to be a woman in America if you use your head. Its also good to be a minority nowdays and use it to your advantage.

    And easy to scam it, as well. Last place I worked for was "owned" by the wives of the three men who "ran" the business for them. They were great owners. We never saw the ladies in the plant....

    not sure I would call it a scam right off the bat. Maybe there were reasons why wives "owned" the business?

    So they can bid as a 'women owned' business. Some government contracts award preference to a vendor demonstrating women or minority ownership. We have a competitor who bid this way for years.
