Tanner Glass Joining Rangers' Front Office

According to a report on the Bordeaux Boxersí (French Ligue Magnus) website, Tanner Glass has retired from playing professional hockey and is taking a role in the New York Rangersí front office.
    Via Google Translate:

At age 35, he focused on his post-career career, where he was offered a position by the New York Rangers to accompany and develop the newly recruited recruits to the Draft and he will follow them until their the prestigious NHL! He will continue to travel the world to watch over his young prospects, and who knows, maybe he will stop by Bordeaux during a future trip to Europe?

The translation doesnít make it exactly clear what Glass could be doing, but it sounds exactly like or similar to the job Jed Ortmeyer has been doing as Director of Player Development.

Having guys like Ortmeyer and Glass working in the organization is a good thing. These are guys who were never skilled players, but they battled and worked for every minute of NHL hockey they ever got. There's a lot of lessons there that young players coming into the organization can learn from

Sounds like he's one of those guys JD was looking to hire. A coach that follows the Rangers draftee from draft day until he comes to US to wear a Ranger sweater.

    I think it's a great hire.

Thoughts and Prayers to AV in Philly though...

Grinders/fighters are usually the smartest guys. Thatís how they got to that level with inferior skillsets.

These grinders/4th liners make some great coaches, I don’t mind this hire.

Fantastic person, too. In any role where he's going to be interacting with young, impressionable minds, I can think of much worse options.

Swear to God he's related to Dolan or someone. He's going to work his way onto the ice in the final minutes of a big game.

All the posters that vilified T.G. and the fans that admired his play, are now jumping on the moving bandwagon praising his attributes. Glass is class !!

    GO RANGERS!!

Let's be clear. He wasn't good at hockey.

Luckily that doesn't have much to do with this job appointment.

Everyone has their own opinion 31. The NYR sorely lack what he brought on every shift, imho.

    GO RANGERS!!

If Craig Berube can win a Stanley Cup coaching the Blues, then I have no problem with giving Glass a position in the organization.

    Iíll mention it this way.
I canít think of many former rangers who are better suited to move into the front office. Drury was the last to come to mind.
    - class act
    - high hockey IQ (you donít
Stick in this league with his skill set without that )
    - great work ethic
    - articulate
And i canít remember any former rangers with his level of education
