In spite of Zucc's heroics, it took the PA announcer to prompt Dallas's fans to go "Zuuuuc", and they didn't do it half as much as the fans at the Garden. Hope they Zuuuuuc there way right into a first round pick for us.

Nevermind, this year goes from 2nd to 1st if they reach third round. If they resign him the 3rd next year becomes a 1st

It would be awesome if he resigned there. Getting another 1st in a very deep draft next year, and you never know with Dallas, their 1st next year COULD potentially be in the lottery.

If the preds lose, with Tampa, Calgary, Nashville losing I know they were all above Winnipeg in points, how good could our pick end up

I believe the highest they can get is 18th, and the lowest they can get is 22nd. They will move up one spot for every team that A) has lower point totals than them in the regular season and B) makes it to the Conference Finals. Basing this off of the order description from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NHL_Entry_Draft#Selection_order_and_draft_lottery. I don't see why this wouldn't be correct since the source linked is straight from NHL.com.

Essentially, a CBJ/Carolina matchup is what we want in the ECF. Colorado or Vegas matched up with Dallas or St. Louis is what we want in the WCF.
