I’ll say it.... that draft was boring AF.. after Kakko there was nothing exciting.

I was expecting trades involving picks and/or roster players..No fireworks.

And that’s fine. They added a star. They made their splash with trouba days before.

NEWARK -- Kaapo Kakko heard his first cheers from New York Rangers fans Sunday, and he wasn't even at Madison Square Garden.

The Finland-born forward, selected No. 2 by the Rangers in the 2019 NHL Draft on Friday, was greeted by about a dozen fans at Newark International Airport.

WTF?!?! How did they know what flight he was on? Really must have not had anything to do on a nice summer day than wait for a 18 year old hockey player.

The drive from Newark to the city must have been a little intimidating for someone who heard NY is a big city. All you guys have probably been in a car with a first timer driving in. 100% of them are in awe. Welcome to your new home kid.

He probably felt bad for Hughes after seeing Newark compared to NYC.

"Oh, I see the city. It's dump. Much worse than Turku"

"No, Kaapo, we're going past that one - see the big buildings over there?"

"Ah, good. What city is dump?"

"Newark, Kaapo"

"Glad not #1 now. Haha, Jack, you have to live in dump."

I don't get it, I can't walk 15 feet in Manhattan without tripping over a homeless person, and the freeway to La Guardia had so much garbage lining it we looked like Japanese tourists we were so excited. Never seen anything like it.

On the other hand, I thought Jersey was much cleaner, especially heading north.

Seeing as you're from a province that routinely stinks of refineries, I'm not entirely sure you'd notice the stench of NJ

NJ is known as the armpit of America. It's actually a sprawling state divided into a NYC service area, a Philadelphia service area, and the Jersey Shore. It is true it gets quiet and clean once you get away from the main roads and peak behind the road sound barriers, but that's not what you see driving on the turnpike or anywhere near Newark / Trenton / JC etc..

I live on the base of the Bruce Peninsula.

If you're referring to Alberta, well, fair point.
