    I'm training to run in my first half marathon on June 4. I'm so excited to be back into a routine AND to be running again.

    Diet... that's a trick for me because of the Crohn's. I can't eat all wheat stuff (bread, pasta, etc) and a ton of fruits & veggies. Makes being a healthy eater a trick. Right now I'm focusing on portion size more than anything.

    Well I just got home from a nice 5.5 hour shift and couldn't really help myself in getting a snack because of a small dinner, so I scrounged around for an apple. It's the first time I've had an apple in a LONG time, and I don't really know why. Good stuff, easy sugars to digest etc etc

    Also, thanks Chizz for recommending coffee in the morning. I felt really energized after coffee and a bagel with cream cheese this morning which just led to a good rest of the day.

    I know lifting weights isn't exactly fun...but I for some reason enjoy it and really look forward to it. I guess it's good because it keeps me wanting to work out and my boss can't claim I "have arms like chicken wings" Finally a nice day after about a week of sleepless, worked out and stressed out crap

    No problem, brah. I don't even drink coffee for that reason. It regulates your metabolism. Drink and 8-12 oz cup of coffee every morning when you within an hour of waking up.

    I'll probably pick up a bagel and coffee before I head to the gym tomorrow. I love having classes start at 1 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and no classes on Fridays. Makes my schedule really loose for the mornings

    Most days I don't even eat breakfast, but if I do, it generally consists of an apple, banana, or bowl of oatmeal. I eat a bagel on Friday, though, before class. Usually a toasted wheat everything with butter.

    And I also found this kind of bread that's very good. It's called Whole Wheat Potato Bread. Now before people flip when it says "Potato", it is made with stone-ground wheat and actually has less carbs/calories than regular wheat bread, and is even a little bit sweet.

    And when I listed my love of carbs, I forgot potatoes. My biggest weakness of them all.

    It's not even fair I work in a pizzeria with a stuffed sicilian specialty called Roman containing potatoes, pepperoni, sausage onions and cheese. I haven't had one in months

    Skipping breakfast is the worst thing possible. When you wake up, your body needs the proper nutrients to get everything functioning. By skipping breakfast youre basically having your body wait until lunch to start burning fat/calories.

    I never skip breakfast, but i usually limit it to a high fiber cereal and coffee. Once in a while on the weekend i'll have a big breakfast. I try to make my big meal for the day, lunch.
