I agree. Wasn't criticizing, just letting the trepidation leak out. FWIW, Scott Wheeler of the Athletic thinks that the draft class is such that any of his 3-9 prospect picks could be taken at #3 - that the rest of the top ten is competitive. So we will likely be in position for somebody good regardless (if we don't go off the board again, but who am I kidding?). Of course the more choice, the better.

There are plenty of players to like in that range. Barring they fall into the 11-15 range, the Rangers should hopefully come away with a talented center.

Looks like the Rangers are pretty well locked into that 7-11 range. Love Hank but he's the reason this team can't complete a proper rebuild.

2.99 GAA and .909 save percentage, im not sure how he’s the reason they’re not dead last. I think u have to give credit to Quinn, at least some of it, or the first line

Quinn and Hank both deserve credit (blame)

I think Zibanejad and Kreider having career years has a lot more to do with it. Zuccarello before being traded was on one of the best streaks in his career. Hayes was having a career year.

Chicago wins. Big tank victory for the Rangers.

The absolute fucking state of that team. How do you lose - at home - to a turbo tanking New Jersey Devils whilst in a good vein of form and chasing a wild card spot?

I'm thinking we end up drafting 9 or 10 unless we get extremely lucky with the ping-pong balls.
Only posted this two weeks ago and I was fairly wrong with predicting how sucky the Devils were. They've sucked their way into the bottom 4 with their beer-league lineup. Now they're only 3 points out of the bottom 2.

Holy moly. The Sabres won a game. St. Louis must be completely losing its shit.

Vancouver win to overtake the Rangers.
Anaheim win to go even on 69 points.

5th from last look achievable right now.

5th would be huge, still cant see it happening tho. So typical rangers to end the season on a 5 game win streak and end up 8-9th last.

It would be typical. Remaining games:

    Vs Det
    @ Tor
    VS Pit
    @ Bos
    VS Stl
    @ Phi
    @Njd
    VS Ott
    VS Cbj
    @ Pit

I can definitely see them going something like 2-8 in that stretch, virtually guaranteeing 5th from last.
But yeah, I worry they'll go something like 5-5 and fucking it all up.

It is definitely going way too smoothly at this point to think anything other than disaster is around the corner. (Said 50 years of watching the Rangers.)

Tomorrow's game is big. One of the 3 very winnable games left of the schedule for us. Hopefully Zibs ends up in Quinn's doghouse tomorrow night to increase the tank effort.
