CBJ former top pick and LI product Sonny Milano was demoted to Cleveland in November; there he has 16 points in 17 games. Figures to be non qualified or traded unless Tortarella gets canned or something dramatically changes. Simply doesn't mesh with the coach's style at all.

Gotta wonder what the backstory is there. All stats seems to indicate he's not a liability (except for +/- so whatever).

He doesn't seem to engage, though. Game log shows alot of 0 in hits, blocks, takeaways.

Maybe had a shit attitude as well...?

Not saying it happened in this case, but certainly part of it is Tortarella has a bug up his ass for offensively-oriented players to block shots. It's not for everyone. Not every coach insists on that, but he does. Happened here with Gaborik. Horses for courses, oil and water, what ever it is, not even a bad thing, just is. Some players simply don't work with certain coaches or styles; look at Zuccarello right now. Tortarella has won a Stanley Cup in TB, so hard to knock his career. But at least since he was here, his teams play a very specific way, if you don't play that way every shift, you don't play. Milano had some decent production numbers based on his ice time last season, but his minutes got whittled down to nothing in the playoffs and that carried over into this season. If CBJ recognized that their HC was going to play this style , they probably would not have picked Milano to begin with. He's a good kid, very coachable; there has not been any blowups or nonsense. But looks like it will not work out there barring some major change.

Rangers coming out of a break playing against a Tortorella coached team.:. Eek

Repeat after me...." O U T W O R K E D "

Josh, I just wish this team shot the puck at the goal a lot more often...and released it quicker. They just sit on it seemingly forever, and make too many passes...To me, rebounds are as good as breakaways dude!!
