That's intentional elbow to the face lol

This is worse than the Wilson hit.

Ok, 1 inch above the elbow did. Suspensions are based on intent, and he intended to elbow him in the face.

The elbow coming up on the follow through should be an automatic signal that there is malicious intent.

His shoulder made contact, Oshie was bent over. If he wanted to elbow him, we would’ve. Elbow barely coming up after the collision is not an automatic signal of intent.

No, it's not, he's bracing and leaning into the hit.

Bullshit. That subtle shoulder move and leaning into contact is exactly how you wreck a guys face, and a guy with a history of so many cheapshots as Malkin doesn't get the benefit of doubt.

Have you ever played football or lacrosse? When you feel contact coming from the side - ball carrier or about to be picked/blocked - you make that subtle lean and raise the shoulder. That is all it takes to blow through contact. The difference is that, in those sports, guys are a) not on ice and b) have facemasks.

Just because you disagree, doesn't make it bullshit.

So hockey players aren't allowed to brace for contact and should just take the ass whooping?

It's not bracing for contact, is my point.

I should have said "you raise the shoulder to deliver the blow"

Oshie shouldn't lead with his face. Wouldn't there be a hearing announced by now if there was a issue with the play?

Well, this has absolutely nothing to do with what Malkin did.

But when you start playing this game, it means that the Wilson hit is the product of Sundqvist not picking his head up, and who knows how many other suspensions where they player who got hit put themselves in a bad position.

    Except for the key difference.

Oshie is the one initiating the contact. He is coming into Malkin's space to defend him. He should be hitting Malkin his his shoulder not his face. This would result in a shoulder to shoulder hit when Malkin braces for impact.

Wilson on the other hand comes across the ice from Sundqvist's blind side and initiates the hit with Sundqvist's head as the primary point of contact. If Wilson would have hit him in the body instead of the head there would have been no issue.

way to ignore the entire rest of the post

and yea, it does matter. If you go to hit some one, and lead with your face, what do you expect to happen?

He did raise his shoulder (bracing for the collision), not his elbow. His elbow moving is a product of his skating momentum going forward and bracing for the hit that's coming from the right.
