Right, enough of this winning malarkey. Let's get back to losing ways.

On a separate note, what's going on with AdA? Is he being a prick in practice or something of that nature? I can't get my head around why he isn't rotated with the rest of them.

Outside of the NY metro, free game on nhl.com

If you're busy, I talked to Einstein, the time-traveling squirrel.

CHI 4 NYR 2

NYR 3 LAK 2

SJS 5 NYR 1

ANA 3 NYR 2 OT

Sometimes Einstein gets his numbers mixed up (he's got bigger priorities than hockey), but you get the gist.

The Vegas Squirrels have got the over/under at 1.5 wins for this trip.

He is terrible in his own zone and has to earn his way back in

Sure, Debrincat is the shiny new kid on the block that has the fans excited. But Patrick Kane is tearing it up again. It is possible for Skjei or Pionk to have a good game and still have Kane beat one of them making a play.

This road trip is a nice bonding opp for the coaches and players. Should do the team well and they should get at least 1 win in the next two. Hawks and Kings are not playoff teams, IMV.

Standing room - 20 bucks.

Seat in the corner - 35 bucks.

Maybe I'll go. Last time I went to Hawks/Rags - Anisimov scored a fucking hat trick.

Go man, only visit. Rangers win 2 in a row, tonight. Treat yourself, grab the $35 seat if it is not too high up. Maybe you'll find a better seat, when you get there. Scout the kids, hang with hipsters and throw a few down.

I disagree. I think he was worse than the others defensively. Quinn thinks so too apparently.

Well,

a) he's not on the roster for his defensive ability and he actually produced in the 2 games he played and

b) I'm not sure he's out purely for hockey reasons.

For example, Shattenkirk is a total bombscare in his own zone and has lost his place on the PP to Pionk. His only redeeming factor is quarterbacking the powerplay and he's not even doing that now. No reason not to rotate the 2.

Furthermore, keeping AdA in the pressbox means the Rangers aren't learning anything about what they have in AdA, he's not getting any better by sitting there and he's not building any trade value sitting there. So what's the fucking point? They obviously think there's something there, otherwise they would have just waived him.

It doesn't make sense, unless there are other factors like him not putting out in training, acting like a prick or whatever it might be.

I think it is as simple as they see something in him to hold onto him, but they need to see improvement in practices as well as someone in the lineup who needs a break or whose play drops off to open up a spot. Nothing should be handed out just because he is a young player.

If he isn't up for the challenge of earning his way back in, then the Rangers should cut their losses.

Claesson looks like he should be building wooden furniture.

Pionks game may have a much higher ceiling if he some day plays with a real capable partner. I agree about ADA. Quinn apparently saw something at practice that kept ADA out of the lineup. But like Gravesy said, him sitting does nobody any good. McIlrath is a good example of how sitting can flatline development.

Yeah, I think that's a bit simplistic but I've I made my point already.

Feel free to disagree.

I'm actually inclined to agree with you, he has played 'well' on the whole so far, was just offering a rather simplistic solution.

I will say though, IMO, some people may have too high an opinion of ADA. Kind of wishful thinking if you will. If the kid wasn't a 1st round pick this wouldn't be as much of a conversation/debate, again IMO.

He's been traded twice at age 23, not played 82 NHL games, and never finished a pro season with a positive +/-. Not sure he changes our outlook much either way when we are ready to compete again. I hope I'm wrong, would love to see him pan out and become a solid point producing 3-4 D man, just don't see it based on the evidence to date.

But yes I would rather be watching him over McQuaid this evening, generally speaking.
