QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

[table=width: 630, align: center]

[tr]

[td=align: center]

"We?ve just got to continue to buy in for the full 60, shoot pucks into the corner and skate into it, and not play East-West. There are stretches or spurts every game where we seem to get away from it, then we come back to it, So it?s just about stringing together a full 60-minute effort."

Obviously you haven't watched Johnny this season or Matt Tkachuk. Lindholm has been pretty good so far too. Forget Brodie, I'll take that Rasmus Andersson rookie over him, any day. That guy can play D.

At the deadline they'll have over 6 mil in cap space. To help their playoff run, how about Hayes or Zuc and Shatty with 40% retention for Andersson? Doubt Calgary is any position to trade youth, but the idea is let's overpay for a young ready RHD (who isn't going to be an offensive powerhouse, but has a lot of upside) instead of just trying to get a 1st rounder.

Very few playoff teams sell defensive depth at the deadline.

Very few playoff teams sell defensive depth at the deadline.

Very true and a good point. The only hope is to have a confluence of factors working in our favor.

1. We'll need a coach who is inclined to not rely on rookie dmen in the playoffs. Kinda the way we knew Cooper was going to manage Sergachev's responsibilities in the playoffs. Of course the guy we target can't have the upside and expectations that Sergie does.

2. A playoff team with a GM motivated to do well in the short term and willing to let go of a piece of the future for a bunch of near term help.

3. A team that needs another C or at least a forward we can offer, plus likes one of our RHD to replace their good prospect.

4. They do not want to spend a 1st or have none. Plus, they can live with trading a good dman prospect. Maybe we give them Tampa's 2nd or a guy like Lindgren to offset trading a young guy.

It is probably a longshot to find a deal that meets all the criteria. We may have to go the next best route and find another team's Howden and Hajek (not in the NHL yet), meaning they are not giving up current depth.

The other hope for a top RHD prospect is that Fox does not sign with Carolina, in which case I am 99% sure he will come to the Rangers. It's never certain, but love the kid and think he has top pair potential.

The Gaudreaus, Kane’s, Marners, Eberles aren’t my cup of tea

Ha, well not a big fan of Eberle, if that's a line of delineation. Ranger fans are not tuning in to see Eberle, the others a different story. Regardless, didn't think Johnny Hockey would be this good, but let's face it, he is. He's extremely dangerous and the Rangers better be prepared for what their top 2 lines can do. Your cup of tea should include guys who do amazing things with the puck, skate like the wind, make shit happen and can drive 1st line play like Johnny, Marner and Patrick Kane.

Always the game plan!

When they do it - they win.

It always depends on whether we fulfill on that Gameplan tonight which is a good time to do it. We need to be more aggressive which has been what we could be lacking for the early part of the season
