I'm not as upset by this one as I was/am by McIlrath. The McIlrath pick I was so upset by that I changed my signature on the old board to reflect my displeasure so that it would be known with every post I made. That said, leaving Casey Mittelstadt for the Sabres to snap up hurts quite a bit. I know that it's not fair to hold that against Lias, but it still sucks. One looks like a franchise center, the other is struggling to crack the bottom 6 on a team that's struggling to crack the bottom 6 of the NHL.

ď'Things aren't what they used to be' is the rallying cry of small minds. When men say things used to be better, they invariably mean they were better for them, because they were young, and had all their hopes intact. The world is bound to look a darker place as you slide into the grave.Ē Joe Abercrombie, Best Served Cold.

the mcilrath pick made no sense. Quite honestly I surprised some analysts had mcilrath projected in high teens. Just no skills at all. Andersson I believe in. Not flashy but has skills.

He's dominating down there. That's good, another month and he can swap with Chytil.

What’s up with the AHL stats? I can’t find anything relevant to this season. What is his state line?

Go to the Ahl app, hit the three bars on the top left and go down to player stats.

You can argue about the guys upside, but he has done nothing but disprove critics at every level so far. Players taken around where he was usually take a couple of years until they hit their stride and he's no exception. The "NHL ready" gibberish that was thrown around by the team has really undermined his development which has been just fine. You can make a good argument that our biggest weakness during our recent successful years has been lack of leadership and he seems to bring it in spades. Between him, Chytil, Howden, Kravtsov, Hajek, K'Andre Miller, and Shesty i'm pretty damn excited about the near future. Not mention a potential top 3 pick this season which is looking more and more likely.
