There's nothing controversial about the ads.

Guy gave up a multi-million dollar career to stick by what he thinks is right, it doesn't matter if white people don't "get it".

Typical josh, spinning one thing into something totally unrelated.

What did he sacrifice? He wasnt good enough to be a starting QB anymore and he wouldnt take backup QB money. Its not like he was Tom Brady and did this then the NFL forced him out. He opted out of his contract and overestimated what he was worth.

Why? That's exactly what this is, Phil even mentioned it. A big corp cashing in on a vulnerable audience - the thing you complain about more than anything.

If you want to talk about the sacrifices this guy made, I love to hear that. He's made 10x in endorsements than he would have the rest of his career, even if you include the several contracts he turned down.

He grew up in a rich, white household, and had everything handed to him.

    Sacrificed what?
and doing this to spite service members, and police officers?

As far as the ad go, I think one of the lines he said was extremely cheesy, but it's not a horrible commercial.

I can pick it apart and say he didnt win or sacrifice, but that's nitpicking that can be done with any commercial.

Where he grew up doesn't mean he isn't black LOL.

By "vulnerable", don't you really just mean "ignorant racist" audience?

    So he's not better than:
    Blake Bortles
    Case Keenum
    Marcus Mariota
    Jacoby Brissett
    Josh McNown
    Deshone Kizer
    Jay Cutler
    Trevor Siemien
    CJ Beathard
    Tom Savage
    Ryan Fitzpatrick
    Brock Osweiler

How do you know he wouldn't take backup QB money? No teams would give a interview.

I’m just stating it. Isn’t it advertising 101? Strike when hot.

I didn’t criticize Nike or Kap for taking this deal.

He’s just an ironic* role model, and I’ll leave it at that.

Let me think of how I’d like to explain this

Broncos said they offered. As did his deal, at the time.

Shit, sometimes you gotta sacrifice your ego, take a back up role, and win a starter spot.

I only bought Nike for a last second gift or on sale. Nothing’s changing.

He turned down an offer to be a backup and then said he isn't signing for backup money. Most of the guys you listed are back ups, except Bortles, who is by far a better QB than Kap. His career was over, the league figure him out and he wasn't effective on the field anymore. It happens. NFL player careers only last about 6 years according to the NFL numbers.
