Donít often spend more than a second to say RIP when I hear about a celebrity death but this one hurts.

Grew up watching his shows and his insight into other cultures. There is just something about the way he did it that always attracted me.

Canít say Iím totally surprised it happened just very sad. This sucks. RIP.

Part Unknown is on my DVR, I have 20+ episodes. He had the best job in the world but obviously he must have been battling some demons. His g/f Asia Argento was one of the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, and Anthony Bourdain spoken out about Weinstein, Mario Batali and most of the people in the restaurant world that has been accused of sexual harassment.

I think it's a function of the nihilistic worldview these people have.

I'm sure some will dispute this, and that's fine.

I know, I was thinking the same thing where i heard about this today and it is very sad where people feel their only option is suicide.

I never followed or watched him (food stuff isn't my thing), but seeing all the testimonials about him, he seemed like a really positive influence on the world. Sucks.

Captivating. Thatís how Iíd describe him in one word. I swear, anytime I was channel (or YouTube) surfing any show of his that Iíd stumble upon Iíd become locked in. My attention span is poor to say the least so I found it very impressive.

Yeah, that seems to be a shared experience for most. Now I want to sit down and watch some of his stuff.

Parts Unknown wasn't just about food, it was about the culture and how food brings different types of people together. I'd would probably recommend start watching a couple of episodes that took place in the U.S., like Nashville, West Virginia, then maybe branch off to cities/countries that might captivate you and watch his experiences with the people of those places.

Sounds cool. What network was it on? Or does someone carry it that I can binge watch?

    CNN for Parts Unknown.
Travel Channel aired his prior show, No Reservations.

Check out the episode I linked in my first post in this thread. Itís a recent one with Serj Tankian and their travels to Armenia.

Blue heaven is right too, the US destinations are fun (and sometimes less serious) episodes.

Itís not just about the food though. Itís the device that carries the story but itís not just about food. Iíd def try to check it out if you havenít given it a fair chance.

Edit: lol sorry should have kept on reading before I replied. But my point still stands.
