Hard fought game, haven’t heard Ovi’s name all game long.
I also think Caps look tired.

It was a late, blindside check that he was penalized for. Not sure anything else comes of it.

This was a hell of a hockey game. Vegas just doesn't like to give up leads. It seems like whenever they go down, they just get right back on the horse the next shift and within two minute of hockey, they've tied it up.

Vegas made one of the best teams in the league (Winnipeg) look impotent. They've demolished some great teams in the West. And I think they are heads and shoulders above the Caps.
Pittsburgh, Tampa and Columbus are all better than Anaheim and San Jose.

Tampa was the 2nd best team in the league, Pittsburgh 2 time defending champion, I don’t see how they were lesser teams

By what criteria, the eye test? If we look at standings/goal differential Nashville/Winnipeg/Tampa/Boston/Vegas cluster together, with Anaheim/Pitt/San Jose clustered in the middle, and by goal difference Columbus a step worse.

Since the West plays more games against the West and the East plays more games against the East record may not be the best measuring stick.

By my eye test there are more teams out west that play attacking, skilled hockey (like Winnipeg) and more teams in the east that play defensive first (like Columbus, but Pittsburgh is an obvious exception). But this is probably just a case of eye of the beholder.

I think Vegas is making some really good teams look average.

Pittsburgh was even on the standings with San Jose and Anaheim but I would give them the edge because of the pedigree and winning 2 consecutive years. As for as Columbus, I would agree with you.

He's been fantastic. I'd argue he's become an elite player.

How could anyone not be looking forward to these games. They are fun. So what if Vegas fans haven't put in the time, we still get to enjoy it.

Quick story for those who can't have fun or are waiting for something better. My brother-in-law was a hockey fan (would attend mostly AHL games), but watch the NHL just for the great hockey. He'd come over and ask if there was an exciting matchup, he didn't care who won, just wanted to see good exciting hockey.

He died this year at 35 years old of head and neck cancer. He would have loved this. My wife and I are watching the games just to appreciate the excitement. Ya gotta keep things in perspective and enjoy life.
