You can't play coach carousel when you know the roster constructed this year probably wasn't going to do much. The defense was always going to be bad and it was. No surprises. There's a ton of cap space this offseason and the Giants should get a top 2-4 pick to land an impact player or to trade down and stock multiple picks to rebuild the defense and shore up the holes on the OL. Gettleman and Shurmur stay because Jones was their guy and he showed signs of early success that have not yet translated to wins. We should be thankful that Daniel Jones looks competent and was not an immediate bust (for now). And for all the flak Shurmur and Bettcher get, the rostered defense is fucking terrible. Likely the worst rostered defense in the league, and they couldn't do much about it last offseason with limited cap space. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I guess with wins and losses magnified in the NFL when shit goes bad the coach looks worse in this sport.
