    QUOTE(S) TO NOTE:

“In my opinion, the Penguins are still the team to beat coming off their two Cup wins. Washington may not have all the firepower they’ve had the last number of years, but I think they’re playing a little bit of a hungrier game. And the Devils are a very strong team we are going to have to worry about all year.”
    – Kevin Shattenkirk on playing in a tough division.

I'm going to be watching very closely at our breakouts; In the past Pittsburgh has shut down our breakout plays and once they get the puck deep on us, we have a helluva time trying to hit wingers flying the zone. Some teams like Florida did this week, catch on to our wingers flying the zone too early and that puts a lot of pressure on our defenseman to move the puck a long way to get it out of our zone. Sid and the the gang had our number on that shit in games past.

I'd like to see a unified effort to make sure pucks get out with the least amount of turnovers as possible. It also takes a lot of the heat off guys like Staal, Holden and Smith who are not the most adept at slinging long accurate passes to thread the needle.

Also would like to see us work the puck deep and get a forecheck going early. That's probably too much to ask, right?

    ...I'll be a watchin' though!!!

I'm optimistic they will be up for this game the way they were for the game in Tampa, which was probably the best 60 (plus) minute performance of the season.

Thanks. It's also on NBCSN. I've added MSG to the list in the OP.

Backup goalie has some nice stats. Luckily he already has his first NHL win and first NHL shutout. He’s due for his first loss of the season though

...that's a real person? I'm confused, is this EA NHL? What's next, you'll tell me Crosby's winger is a guy named "Bill Ovechkin".

Nah, just sarcasm because he's so unremarkable. No. Crosby's winger's name is Pierre McGuire.

I hope we start getting the puck deep, turning their defenseman around to get it!
