Watching part of the last game it looked like Desharnais fit in well there between Kreider and Buchnevich
He got 3 assists and +1. Maybe we'll see more of that in the less physical games.

Carey could probably fit in somewhere ... at least he's brought some grit. Nieves has been alright for a rookie; he had a long scoreless streak after that first brace of assists but at least he's shown some encouraging things out there on the ice.

But for sure we'll miss Zibs. What a season he was having. Completely sucks to lose a player of that caliber. Again.

Yeah, I think that's the thing with Desharnais. He can fill in from time to time and look okay but he lacks the consistency to be counted on game in and game out. Hopefully this is short term.

I guess his concussion history was kind of forgotten about.

In retrospect, I think it played a big role in why Ottawa dumped him for essentially 75 cents on the dollar.

Concussions plus he was due a contract.. and they have been horrible with negotiating contracts the last handful of years.

Sens fans routinely discussed how Zibenajad was "off" after his concussion a few years ago. They were done waiting around for him to get his shit together.
Lets hope he has a quickly and effective recovery.

In a 2 pm presser today AV said "Mika's here today; riding the bike. I can't tell you exactly where he was in the protocol. He was following the protocol. it's day by day; how he feels."
    ... he was smiling, though."

TWEET #NYR head coach Alain Vigneault gives an update on Zibanejad's condition, the upcoming road trip through Pittsburgh and Washington and his schedule for Pavelec.

agree, he should definately not rush..

The only big impact I see is on the PP. Its become ineffective at this point, and not even a threat....But we're all used to that anyway. So why rush.

Zib was at the morning skate today - so he shouldn't be too far off. Skating as an extra D but AV said he wants him to get another full practice. I'm thinking he slots back in on Wednesday.
