LOOOOOOVVVVEEE this pick. It is not a "safe" pick at all, kid has huge upside IMO. He's 6'2 and still growing. Excellent skater with silky mitts. Has the potential to be the steal of round one, IMO.

Chytil's rights got selected by North Bay in the CHL Import Draft, 7th overall. North Bay finished 2nd to last in their OHL division last year, with a record of 24-38-6.

He's eligible to play in the AHL this year, though I'm curious if NYR brass want him to play a year of Canadian juniors to adjust to the ice. He's already been playing against men in the Czech league.

And per the Rangers twitter account, he had two goals in today's scrimmage at the Prospect Development Camp.

If it was Sweden or Finland I'd say leave him be, but I don't feel the Czech league is as strong. I don't know a great deal about them all but it's just the impression I get. So you have to weigh up adjusting to bigger rinks, with playing against men. I would be eager to see him in North America though, but I'm biased as I'm moving to Toronto from the UK next week and could probably catch a game or two!

I think he's at least a year away from the AHL. Don't rush him, he was one of the youngest kids in the draft. Lay the foundations and build.

2 goals for the Chytter today at the #NYRPDC

according to @NYRangers which I kinda got via the demure Amanda Borges.

Regulation ends. White takes it 4-1. Chytil with 2 goals, @liasandersson and @TyRonning7 with one each. #NYRPDC

I think this was from the first day of scrimmages if I'm not mistaken.

Don't know what the deal was at the world juniors. Took a couple shots to the head early in the tourney, maybe that threw him off. Has 1 goal and 6 assists in his last 5 games with the pack.

Any Howard Stern fans on this board? I don't know why, but every time I see this kid's name, knowing it's pronounced "heetel," all I can think of is, "Chytil is as bad as can, he knows he's the best." Rep to anyone who gets the reference.

Another 1+1 last night. Now up to 24 points in 28 games. Reminder: guy is still friggin 18!

I really think he's our next #1 center if he continues to develop as expected. Chytill, Zib and Andersson down the middle in a year or two

Im so pumped to see what he can do next year. He's scoring on 0.8 ppg in the AHL as an 18 y/o. Thats by far the best for an U20 player (actually Lias is #2). #5 in ppg by a rookie (Strome, Merkley, Sprong and Appleton ahead of him, everyone of them are 20+). The only negative is he "only" got 9 goals in 33 games.

Its funny to actually be excited by some of the guys in the A again!

Wondering if we should've taken Tolvanen, but he's shaking out well so far.

Worth noting that Tolvanen was completely invisible yesterday vs. Canada. So he's human.
