    My dream:

Trade Miller to Winnipeg for Trouba or Myers.
Trade Girardi for peanuts. If not buyout.
    Resign Smith
Trade Stepan a 3rd and Klein to Colorado for Duchene
    Sign Marleau

    Nash- Duchene- Zucc
    Kreider- Zib- Buch
    Vesey- Hayes- Marleau
    Grabner- Lindberg- Fast

    McD- Trouba/Myers
    Skjei- Smith
    Graves- Girardi/Staal

Good primer. Basically Devils own his rights-

    http://nypost.com/2017/05/10/is-ilya...to-the-devils/in pertinent part-

"Under NHL rules, Kovalchuk must re-sign with the Devils and can’t do so until the league’s free-agency period opens on July 1. That doesn’t preclude the possibility of the Devils signing and then trading the player."

There is a big difference between Myers and Trouba.

Not to mention that Trouba is easily worth more than Miller.

No to Myers. Yes to Trouba, but he will be a target for a lot of teams, I think, considering his contract and everything that happened last season.
    Out: Girardi, Klein, Stepan, Raanta
    In: Shattenkirk, Desharnais, Pavalec, DeAngelo/Bereglazalov/Pionk

After the playoffs Miller had, his value dropped

Yeah, just turn the tables. WIN offers us a guy With 1g in 40 playoffs games and a 2nd rounder for Jacob Trouba.

unfortunately we dont have good enough players do make a big trade. If we want to do that it must include atleast a 1st, Skjei or Buch.

This will be the same as last year I guess. MAYBE we buy out Staal/G, but we wont make any big splash. Maybe a small trade, a couple of UFA signings and try again with the same shit.

As Rangers break up, there are changes on the horizon for next season

Coach Alain Vigneault said the club will be in the market for another young defenseman, and that Brady Skjei, who is joining Team USA at the World Championships in Cologne, Germany, “should be better and more effective and ready for a bigger role and bigger minutes.”

So is the writing on the wall that veterans Marc Staal and Dan Girardi will play less and on lower defense pairs, if they remain Blueshirts? “I don’t think I have an answer for you today,” Vigneault said. “But it’s something we’re going to look at.”

ICYMI, I wrote about the Avs needing to target the Rangers and Caps in any Matt Duchene or Gabriel Landeskog deal

Joe Thornton & Patrick Marleau are the saviors going eastward? Brought Tricky Ricky Ca$h here & that was the fix-it-all at the time. Worked out splendidly. That is the biggest joke since someone tried walking across the Hudson River. People must be staying up at nite dreaming this stuff up.

Speed works well with Hayes. Marleau wouldn't be bad for scoring depth depending on price...

Not much of a difference. Myers had Troubas spot until he got injured. Myers getting top minutes caused Trouba to hold out. He wasn't getting his minutes.

Not exactly sure Trouba is worth all that much more than Miller. I believe he is UFA after next season.

Trouba is way better than Myers who isn't that good and makes 5.7M.

Trouba is also a RFA at the end of next season.

Thanks for not reading the post. Speed works well WITH Hayes. Hagelin, Grabner. There's a body of evidence that when Hayes has a speedy winger, both perform well.
