I'm sure he would waive it for the right opportunity. Finding that spot is the challenge though

Yeah, I know, but they need to ask. If they're going to overhaul, does Hank want to take the chance that they'll be a serious contender for the next 3 seasons? Because that's probably his window to win, and I'm being generous. Also, they can get a decent return for him now, which is what they need. Just eliminating the broken pieces isn't going to get you over the hump in 2-3 years.

Agree that too many guys are too comfortable.

Worst part is that they can revamp the whole roster, fleece a few teams, get lucky with FA and have the perfect team on paper...but come playoff time are guys going to disappear again? is this non championship winning coach going to continue to do things his way and not adjust?

Maybe it's just me, but a return of Jaden Schwartz, Jake Allen to tandem with Raanta, and Jordan Schmaltz from a St. Louis Blues team that needs a shake up sounds right to me.

We also need more than three goals in 12 games from our highest paid forward, but the point of Nash not showing up in the playoffs has been beaten to death. I thought that was going to change after the Montreal series where he was pretty good, and I was pretty positive on him. But he was a no show for most of the series against the Sens.

Absolutely, Nash can go too. He's part of the problem as well. He was fine this postseason and I'm sick of our top players thinking fine is OK.

The Chris Krieder that showed up in the third period last night is what we need from all our players every game in the postseason. Period. Not sometimes from some players.

But what should the "core" for the next three to five years look like? Ideally we build a team around Ryan McDonagh, Brady Skjei, Pavel Buchnevich and Mika Zibanejad, perhaps also Chris Kreider, Derek Stepan, J.T. Miller, Jesper Fast, Kevin Hayes and Jimmy Vesey. But the latter six are also not untouchable. No matter how the Lundqvist era has to come to an end as soon as possible. I love King Henrik as an athlete, but he will definitely not win the Cup with the Blueshirts and the Rangers can't rebuild to a truely contender if they can't clear his contract. From an objective point of view both sides should be interested in changing the scenery. But alas, which NHL teams would be interested in trading for Lundqvist at all?

You don't rebuild with Stepan and Hayes, they are trash. I'd even be willing to go all out rebuild and trade McD.

It is, because he's nothing special anymore and every team has a good goalie for pennies on Hanks dollars.

Giving money to goalies is just dumb. Starting goalies go for 3rd round pick because there's a massive oversupply of goalies.

The major problem is that this team lacks a pure goal scorer. Nash isn't what he was, and IMO, thats what truly hurts this team. They don't have a player that can just take control of a game when needed to.

If we can gain an asset like Trouba during postseason by trading Derek Stepan, I'm absolutely fine with it. But his trade value at this point of his career is historical low I guess. So I wouldn't trade him just to make a trade. Perhaps it would be wiser to wait and see, if he can have a bounce back year next season.

Yeah, seriously. We're basically back where we were before we got Gaborik. But even with a pure goal scorer, you need a complimentary piece. Look at what Elliot Friedman said the other day:
“St. Louis has a great game-breaker in Tarasenko. But, and someone sent me this note yesterday after the game. I’ve got to do the exact numbers, but I think they’re right. If you take a look at all of the guys who finished high on the list in scoring, they all have a teammate who was close. It’s Kane-Panarin in Chicago. It’s McDavid-Draisaitl in Edmonton. It’s Crosby-Malkin in Pittsburgh. It’s Benn-Seguin in Dallas. Tarasenko is the one guy who on his team had nobody near him. St. Louis is going to need to find offensive players, and I wonder if they would be the kind of team that would say, ‘Alright, we’d be willing to look at Eberle under the right circumstances.’
We don't have a Kane or a Panarin. We don't have a Benn or a Seguin. Hell, we don't have a Tarasenko.

We will never have those things unless draft super low for years and we can never sign/trade for those things because we pay our goaltender $8.5M and can't fit big-time players under the cap.

    Need to go:
    Lundquist
    Nash
Send both to Vegas, both of these guys not only will help to bring in crowds, but also help to get above minimum salary floor.

    Staal- trade
    Klein-trade

I've decided to let the experts at BSBH handle the firing and execution of all current coaches and players on the NYR for losing last night

I have actually found one bright light to the result

We will not have to spend one more single millisecond hearing the horribly stupid words of Mike Milbury, Pierre Maguire and the rest of the awful clowns of NBC hockey coverage

I didn't know you were so close with Lundquist and know this for sure, sorry man.

On the other hand, why not? That's where all other porn stars meet.

Because he loves new york and he's not going to go play for Vegas. He might waive it for a contending team, but not Vegas.

Contending team doesn't want Lundquist and his 8 mill cap hit.
There is no consistency with him, and he costs too much.

At least I now know not to take your posts seriously with a response like this and the fact that you can't even correctly spell the players names.
