edmonton and ottawa last hopes for canada to end the drought since montreal in 1993. ottawa is a gritty club, but i expect to see nyr against the pit-wsh survivor after six bruising games

The NYR had better not under estimate any opponent in the playoffs.

More afternoon games, please. The evening games begin at 1 AM in this part of the World

Anyway, let's take a second to praise the Rangers Front Office. Last summer, we were in a terrible shape with an aging and unbalanced roster, a virtually empty cupboard and no real hopes for a serious Cup run in the near future. Many experts even thought we would be a lottery team this season. Since then, the Rangers have completed an incredibly succesful retool and rejuvenation that has brought us close to the Conference Finals and left us with a team that could potentially be a very strong Cup contender next year including an extremely interesting young core that can carry the team for the next 5-10 years.

I think this one might go 7... Ottawa is harder than they seem. Don't think they're any worse than Montreal

The last series against them was the most uncomfortable I've ever been watching hockey. Konopka won like 80% of his faceoffs

I'm not worried at all. If this team plays the same series they played against Montreal, even with the absolutely embarassing performances of Game 3 and Game 2 in OT, they will easily win this series. There are very few teams in the league that can handle a team with the speed and skill of the Rangers when they're also playing as physical of a game as they played against MTL and OTT will be no different. They might offer a different look offensively and defensively than MTL did, but if they can't catch us and can't out hit us then they're really out of options aside from praying for lucky bounces all series. MTL couldn't do either of those things, and were relegated to prayer. Ottawa will be the same.

Now, if the Rangers don't decide to show up for this series the way they did for most of MTL then they can be shipped in the offseason as well. Not getting up the intensity to play in the playoffs is the worst excuse for losing I could even imagine, and I expect the same type of effort throughout this series. Look at MTL: they can hold their heads up after losing this series because they competed throughout the entire thing. A few big guys didn't show up for them and that played a huge role in their loss, but as a team, they competed with intensity. With the same effort, the Rangers will easily win this series and without it, they stand a chance to lose.

I agree. This is gonna be a rough series. IMO, Ottawa is a tougher team to play against than Montreal. Anderson has been great against the Rangers this season.

A high powered offense scares me more than anything else and they don't seem to have it. Maybe a resurgence of a few guys. Fast teams can play physically. Physical teams can't decide to play fast. Like many have said, if we play well I think we win. A little more of a feeling of controlling our own destiny this round.

I think from top down we are better than this team. The difference being Karlsson. He can can win one or two games for them on his own.

Yeah that is the bigger issue here, lol. If we can't beat this team rather cleanly we're not beating either Washington or Pittsburgh.

    SCREW ALL NEGATIVITY!

    Rangers in 5!

Pens and Caps will beat eachother up in a 7 game series and we'll take care of them too!

They're better than Montreal because they have more than two guys who can score.

They only have like 4, but still.

I think they have the lowest goal total of all 8 playoff teams. I'm also not overly impresses with what they did against a banged up Bruins blue line.

At least the Rangers wont have to face Chris Neil, but then again Ottawa has that other punk Alex Burrows
