The only thing I'm learning from this series is that the Rangers are anything but a soft team. They might not look like they give a shit for four periods in a row, but for the other 9 periods they've competed in this has been a nasty, tough, physical, and demanding series to participate in, and they've done that. Smith on D has helped a lot here, but McD last night was incredible, and most of our forwards have found another gear for physicality, if not actually playing hockey.

Hopefully we can play enough hockey to win 2 more games.

Trying not to let the highs get too high, and the lows get too low. Only 2 wins down. 14 more to go.

Well the lows get real low here. Now they win and it's not good enough. Yes, long way to go, but there's still hockey discussion to be had.

Didn't even get to watch the fucking game.
Jack jack took me out to dinner, so I wasn't going to argue with her.

I like to sit back, relax and enjoy a win in the playoffs. By tomorrow morning the enjoyment is gone and the nerves are back.

My buddy and I were working on some college stuff and couldn't watch. We checked the score and figured the Rangers would win because we weren't watching lol.

A word about Buch last night: In my opinion he really changes the dynamic of the roster. I thought he was good last night, he sees the ice well, and he allows Grabner to be on the 4th line which is really where he should be. I thought Glass did a great job and was easily one of the only forwards doing his job, but unless he's replacing Fast, I don't see how he fits in at the moment -- not to say he can't come back in at some point, but I think the roster needs to stay intact for the next game.

And I was very very impressed with Smith. He beat out Mac for most minutes played and absolutely killed a few guys in the process. He's had a slow start here in NY but I think he's been solid and if somehow they can start with a top four of Mac, Smith, Shattenkirk, and Skjei next season, we'll be in really good shape.

The low's get low when the Rangers come out and mail it in, and get beat up in the process. I think most everyone on this board could accept a loss if the Rangers came out on all cylinders, offense, defense and hitting. We wouldnt be happy, but we could accept it. It's when they give games away where we get upset.

    Great point Mikey

A win is a win. A playoff win playing good hockey is a big win

Don't understand why that makes some at BSBH less than happy

If you win a game by pure luck in which you are out-shot 70-20, is "a win a win"? Or is it unsustainable and at the very least concerning and worth talking about? This is hyperbolic, obviously, but it's just to illustrate a point.

What you see as "less than happy", I see as critical analysis.

I'd say "I'll take it" and move on to the next game. Regardless of how a team wins or loses, there's always something to discuss. To illustrate another point, there was more bashing about game 3 than there was praising game 4. Although they won, there's still some things I'd like to see done differently. I mentioned them 46 times in the last 24 hours including posting from the Garden during the game. I'm always up for some chalk talk.

Edit: In addition, I find it more constructive to discuss the actual game than I do having to read posts that Hayes is slow, Kreider sucks, and Stepan is fat. That's not hockey discussion, that's just blasting guys because they were flat.

And if you win, lose, win, lose in the same fashion four straight?

And if the same occurred the entire regular season?

I dislike the idea of labeling criticism as never being happy. I love winning. I want to win always. Which is why I'm concerned about how they accomplish this. If it's unsustainable I'm going to make note of that. Because I never want the winning to end.
