He gets that in the regular season, but that comes at a serious premium in the postseason. He just not good enough to dipsy doodle around the ice and try to make that perfect play like he thinks he can.
The Radulov goal-don't have to wipe him out, simply get in his way enough that he cannot get near the goalmouth. And Hayes, despite his size, either could or would not do that. Typical of this series; they haven't won the puck battles. If the tape to tape passes don't work, hey, no biggie, I'm in the NHL, not getting my nose dirty. And no coach is screaming at them otherwise.

And what's Alain's excuse??? Sorry, but I'd try the alternative

We saw how legendary players being turned into coaches goes with Patrick Roy. Not good.

What does this even mean? What's his excuse? I don't know, that he's a poor strategic coach and poor motivator.

How does that make Messier in any way qualified? Because he won cups as a player?

Roy is a weird exception. Fantastic junior coach. Not a good professional one. Always a primadonna.

Legendary players can find their places in organizational roles, but they need to earn them. This fascination with Messier is just a result of a fanbase being enamored with him because of what he did as a player 23 years ago. He hasn't demonstrated anything that indicates that he can coach. He hasn't exceeded being a special assistant in an organization.

See how fans could want an emotional leader as a coach. But Messier has never gone down to the minors or juniors or Canadian or US national teams (he is a naturalized American, I believe). It's a helluva jump up from star to head coach. Coaching dues have to be paid. Not saying he has to spend a decade in the AHL, but he has no coaching resume at all. Phil Esposito tried here and it was a disaster. And the time demands are ridiculous. Tortorella and AV could not be more different, but know in both cases these guys are working 7 days a week for 10 months. If you're already sitting on a big pile of $, might be more work than Messier would ever want to do.

Ha! You have no clue whatsoever if Messier would be a good or bad coach

I can't say for sure if he would be, but given that he has no track record of coaching besides two meaningless minor tournaments, I'd say it's safe to presume that Messier wouldn't be able to coach at the NHL level. Sorry.

If the Ranges come out and play like they did in Game 3, I will be on that bandwagon for sweeping changes in the organization. They better play with desperation, play the same game they did in Game 1, physical, forecheck, speed and add crash the net and make life difficult for Carey Price. Bonus would be chipping in with a PPG.

The most annoying part is that u always get some kind of hope when u see the other team get a penalty. "Maybe this time" "finally we get a chance to tie this game", but then you just get served the same old crap and just gets way more annoyed then u were before.

But - New day, new game... New GDT!

Well it's supposed to be an advantage or at least give the team with a powerplay a chance to put some pressure on/get some zone time. But the Rangers can't even gain the zone once the puck is cleared. Their only hope is that they control the puck off the faceoff and can keep it in.

Looking for some big steps tonight

    1. At least 4 shots on goal that aren't blocked or easily saved

    2. A hit by someone not named Glass or Skjei

    3. Someone knocking Gallagher from in front of not through the backboards and into the fifth row..knocking that shitty smile off his dumb face forever
