What Former Rangers Player From Yesteryear Would Excel With This Rangers Team?

The two players that spring to mind for me are Scott Gomez and Fredrik Sjöström.

Gomez, I feel, would finally match the speed of the game he couldn't in the 2000's when the game was so much slower.

Sjöström was all legs. Quadzilla, right? He was like the original Jesper Fast.

    Sjostrom was my first thought.

Is this really that difficult? Think of a former Ranger who played years ago. Preferably not recently. Now imagine how well they might do in this new NHL. Then post.

Leetch, yes. Messier, no, unless we're talking about a very young version of him. He'd be suspended every other game.

    "All the superstars!"

You guys are missing the spirit of the thread by miles.

Here's another -- Marty Straka. He'd be an 80-point player in this league IMO.

Also, there's no way Bryan McCabe would be any worse than 4/6 Rangers defensemen this season.

Sjostrom was one of my favorites. I think Nik Zherdev (if he wasn't lazy) would be a tremendous addition. I think him and Zuc would really click

Remember when Petr Nedved tried out a few years back? He was the best ranger in pre-season and got cut. It was bs lol

Erik Christensen would have been a lot better under AV than under Torts

Theo Fleury. He was really good in his era as a little guy...in this era, if he could stay out of the box, he'd be sick I think.

I would say Bure, Kovalev, Larmer, Verbeek and Higgins.

+1 to those who have said Bure.

He'd be Grabner with better hands.

    Yeah, he'd be a 100 point Zuccarello.
