And to think. J.J. was Capt. of the NYR at one time.

@D.A.P. Yeah. If the NYR " team " as a whole had the heart and determination and grit and desire and work ethic and perseverance and toughness - yes toughness with a capital T - as Tanner Glass, ...... well use your imagination.

They'd score one goal per season. Thrilling.

UH huh. " They " really put on an offensive onslaught against the Panthers. Besides that, the post says not a word about scoring, which they couldn't do much of against a team that isn't going to the play offs, yet held this bunch to zero shots for 15+ minutes; 3/4 of a period. Only if the highly paid offensive players could put the puck in the net when it counted....................................

And Glass right now is producing more than Stepan with a fraction of the ice time; that's an embarrassment for a 1a center getting PP time and top wingers every shift. You can go Z'jad/Hayes/Miller/Fast at C tomorrow and make the team better. Again Stepan/Glass is not the choice really.
But under AV there are no consequences for not producing, and that is the problem. How a coach watches these last few games without losing his shit completely suggests really he should lose his job altogether.

I am fine with the first wild card but there's no reason to lose out to get it. I would prefer we win out and start the playoffs on a hot streak. We just need WSH, CBJ, and PIT to keep winning as well so we don't make up too much ground.

I am starting to see this pattern now and could not agree more. Its getting pretty annoying now.

Because veterans don't get sat down ever by most coaches unless something is really wrong.

And yes. Tanner Glass is really outproducing with his 2 points that he got in one game. Five games ago. Quite the job of outproducing there.

If you look at the Rangers overall record over the years with and without Stepan you'll get your answer as to how they'd perform without him. It isn't better.

It's 2017, not years past. Stepan is an excellent, all-around player, but for whatever reason, is not playing up to his capabilities. Not alone in that regard. Time for ALL the big guns to make a real contribution. Enough of the B.S. lame alibis. Been following this team since 1954 - that's right - 1954! Seen and heard plenty. 2 Cups in 75+ years says it all.

    Indeed.

Can we just agree that offense as a whole is not really this teams problem. Yes there are vets underperforming and it's frustrating. But defense continues to be the Achilles heel for this group. That and sustaining intensity for 60 mins.

They came out flying first period. Got their ass kicked the second and never really recovered. Idk what it is but that worries me more than Stepan sucking a fat one right now.
