Perhaps he'll request a trade shortly.

What do you mean should have won more? He's a mid-tier QB with two Super Bowls. Mismanagement has hurt a number of QBs far more than him. If anything, the opposite has been true.

They were on their way to back to back Super Bowl championships, then Plax shot himself. Eli should have 3 rings for sure. After his 2nd Super Bowl win those last few Coughlin years were a clusterfuck for various reason. Some Coughlin, some GM moves and of course some blame on Eli and the players.

I'm not sure mid-tier is doing Eli justice. He's not top 5 material but out of 1-30 QB on any given year "on average" I'd peg him around 7-10 out of 30. Obviously, the past few years would rank lower, but over the course of career's he's better than 14 or 15 out of 30 QB in the league. He definitely had a few years where he's was top 5-6 in the league.

Not confirmed that Manning starts this week, Mara said itís up to Spagnuolo. Could be smoke and mirrors.

3 home games coming up. 1st one against Dallas. There will be a fan revolution in the Meadowlands if E.M. doesn't start, imo. The whole thing is a mess, a circus, starting from the top down. There have been too many other distractions that were allowed to fester.

I think that's generous, and we're both biased here lol. But there's really no metric to support that he was ever in the top 5-6. He's never even been in the top 10 in passer rating and his AY/A has only crept in a couple of times.

His career passer rating is just 83.3...that ranks 33rd of all QBs with at least 50 games since he came into the league. His closest contemporary is Joe Flacco.

In the silly realm of the NFL looking at all-time QB rankings, the winning of a Super Bowl pretty much determines how great you are. Manning's winning 2 Super Bowls and being MVP has him in the ionosphere of NFL elites. Dan Marino is hardly mentioned in the same breath and look what he accomplished. Rankings aside, Manning will be a sure bet immediate HOF inductee.

I hear ya. The guy rarely wowed me from game to game but he was reliable, "good", professional and calm under pressure.

Solid career even without the rings.

Geno Smith unhappy with decision to bench him
Posted by Charean Williams on December 6, 2017, 11:42 PM EST

Geno Smith isnít happy with Steve Spagnuoloís decision to start Eli Manning this week, and the Giants quarterback made it clear he doesnít agree with his benching. But Smith also isnít about to create waves.

True, but Jim's over all numbers are awful. Surprisingly, Eli's numbers are pretty comparable with Marino's.

    Eli: 14 seasons 4287 - 7158 59.9%
    50,307
    334-221 td/int with an 84.0 passer rating

    Dan: 17 seasons 4967 - 8358 59.4 %
    61,361
    420-252 with an 86.4
