Has 23 goals in 23 games and 34 points. Leads the league in shots on goal. Has 129 so he’s averaging 5.6 per game. That’s crazy.

With Ronning, it's always going to be about the next level.

He had 5 points in 12 games with the Wolf Pack last season when they were awful. He seems to be more confident now at least as a shooter. I think he has the potential. Volume shooters can have some success i.e. Viktor Arvidsson

Yes, I didn't catch why they returned him to WHL, but it may be for the best if he puts up a huge # there and builds confidence.

I'm still iffy even claiming he's an actual prospect but there's pedigree here and that could be important.

The high energy types always tend to stick around a while. Look at Bourque. Ronning is showing more skill than Bourque ever did though. In an era where speed and shots in mass matter, Ronning has potential.

32 goals and 47 points through 35 games. He's taken 184 shots in those 35 games (~5.26 per game).

He's not a goal per game anymore?

It's great, but he's not going to change my mind in that league.

Big year for him next year.

We're very close with a family on that team, but it's frustrating because they're dumb as shit hockey wise, ask about Ronning and it's just how totally awesome he is! He's amazing! LOL.

The thing that impresses me is that he doesn't have a dominant center like Gropp did in Barzal. He, at least looking at the stats, is carrying a rather shitty team to the playoffs at the moment.

Except he’s nothing like Thomas aside from size. Thomas dominated the OHL, probably the easiest league, because he had a phenomenal shot. He was smaller Brandon Pirri. Ronning has a more rounded game and just throws everything on net. He’s more physical in doing so too. Thomas needed space and someone setting him up. Ronning makes whatever work.

No way OHL is easiest league. WHL stock is down. It's not much better than BCJHL tbh.

OHL is largely trash for development outside a handful of teams.

One has nothing to do with the other. Even if I believes that, and I guess it's half true, that has nothing to do with quality.

They're businesses, not some benevolent pipeline for pro teams.

The East Conference is weak, the west conference is the best junior hockey in the world.

They are tied together. Those that develop end up being the most talented. I’m not going to agree with you on that. I’m biased though. I don’t like junior hockey in general. The USHL is getting better.

Ronning’s production as an undersized forward in the WHL is a lot harder than in the OHL.

His size is gonna be a drawback. But given this production if he has half the heart of his dad he will play in the NHL. Not saying he's destined to score 50 goals in season, but he's gonna make it.
