Storen was really good before they started fucking with his role. Papelbon over him is a mystery IMO.

The Phillies farm hands are finally making a bit of a push here in spring training. These boys can rake. Franco is going to have a bust out year, me thinks.

That kid looks like he can really hit, are they keeping him at 3rd? Crawford going to make the 25?

Dom Brown is in Jays camp, that made me laugh.

Yeah he's going to stay there. He has the tools defensively, he's not just a pure bat.

In some ways I feel bad for Brown. Tons of athletic talent, got a a lot of hype early and then got fumbled around because of a log jam at his position, along with some injuries. He is definitely a head case though, or rather he seems to have focusing issues. Only one hitting coach, Wally Joyner, combined with some drive on his own to prove himself got him to really take being a professional seriously. That was 2013, and until he got hurt it seemed to really pay off. I remember being at a game where he threw out a runner from the fence easily, had an rbi double and 3 run bomb, along with a diving catch that year and thinking "holy shit this dude has finally put it all together." Then he got hurt, Joyner left, and his head never got back in it, at least not at the plate. He lost that even, flattened swing and went back to upper cutting and chopping. Lost his consistency and his feel for the strike zone that made him so dangerous. (In 2013 he was great at working the count, getting walks, and forcing pitchers to throw to him. He feasted on mistakes, but not just out of luck. He created those mistakes.)

I hope he can become a major league player. Maybe not everyday, but at least a role player. I just don't see it though.

He's got a longgggg swing, he's looked pretty good, but I hope they keep Pompey for the 4th OF.

Very long. Joyner got him to shorten it just a little bit, and put it on a more even plane. That made a huge difference. You know he's in a bad spot when his hands start getting high in his state and he gets real loopy. A little loopy can be good if controlled, but this dude was doing rollercoaster loops in his backswing.

Anybody see how the Jays lost last night? Just wait till it ends a game that means something. It's hilarious.

Being that they were in Tampa my guess is that a pop up hit the cat walk that's considered in play, and someone got an inside the park hr.

Jays had bases loaded, down 4-3, Encarnacion (I think) hit a grounder, Bautista slides into second, kind of made contact/grabbed Forsythe's foot, throws ball, error, 2 run score, umpires rule interference on Bautista based on the new rules, game over. Jays manager says in postgame, whats next, they'll come out in skirts?

Vince Velasquez struck out 16 today for the Phil's. He now has 25 through his first 2 starts. This kid isn't just entertaining, he's a flat out stud. It's crazy how in two years we went from having no pitching prospect depth to having Velasquez, Eichoff, and Nola, with 3 5 more guys in the minors who can challenge as well within the next 2 years. It's too bad Altherr fucked up his wrist, he and Nick Williams jumping up to this squad and surrounding Franco in the lineup would be mighty fun to watch. Hopefully Alfaro gets called up soon, dude is hitting .500 in double A at this point. He needs to at least get to triple A soon.

It feels like ever since Doc's perfect game, no-no's have become way more common.
