I think if you play this guy with some talent (which he doesn't have much of over there), he'll explode. I'm sure he needs a little work on the defensive end, but out the gate I think his offensive capabilities will more than make up for that

I've seen some commentary on Twitter - Josh Khalfin mostly - saying that he plays a pretty complete game that would translate well to North American ice right away. The review is that unlike a lot of the Russian scorers, he doesn't rely solely on his talent, but he competes hard and plays a fundamental game first.

He does... I didn't really see any blatant weaknesses in his game in the times I've watched him. He could stand to improve in some areas, but for his age he's far ahead of the competition imo. His skill level is similar to Panarin in Chicago, who has 21 points in 19 games right now. Yes, some of that is a result of playing with Kane, but he by himself is a very effective player. The only difference is Pavel is younger and not as polished.

    Buchnevich Scores a Hat Trick!

Rangers Russian prospect Pavel Buchnevich picked up his first KHL hat trick Thursday in a 4-0 win over Medvescak. Watch Buchnevich's goals on the Rangers' Twitter account.

Buchnevich now has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 30 games.

    Through 130 #khl games age 17-20. Kuznetzov 40-43-83; Buchnevich 31-42-73; Tarasenko 31-27-58. #NYR

You also have to take into account that those two played on much better teams than him. His team is literally full of scrubs. Put him on a contender and I think he's easily at a PPG right now.

He's not going to be as good as Tarasenko (who is?), but I can see him having the same impact here as Kuznetsov has had in Washington

I'm expecting Radulov lite production. Probably 40 to 50 point range. Would be great to get that on 2nd line.

I expect Kuznetzov basically. Take some time to adjust to the NA game and ice, then kind of come into his own later in the year.

The guy has deadly slapper, in addition to his pretty good wrist shot. And more important of all - he uses it. That would be a nice addition on the PP

Has now has 24 points in his last 26 games playing on one of the worst teams in the league (26th out of 28th in the league right now).

I think his adjustment to the smaller ice will be swift because he's such a well rounded player

Here are the two recent goals for those that don't go on the other forum:

His speed is great too. He's seems to have everything in his game. I see his transition as being similar to Panarin's. They had similar KHL tracks as well.

Panarin on his own his own is a really good player. Maybe not point per game good, but he's slick. It goes both ways... they've helped each other. Kane is one pace to absolutely destroy his season high in points

True, but a guy like Buch, if he can be smart without the puck, can be a great fit with Steps and Kreider. Let Kreider do all the bruising work, Steps be the setup man, and Buch the finisher.

Idealistic maybe, but on paper, I think he could really thrive on that second line winger role.

Can be, but he can also be inept - see one Anthony Duclair, who's utterly useless when not on attack.

Are you talking about Pavel? He's certainly not as useless as Duclair without the puck.

Speaking of Pavel, he now has 27 points in 35 games, which is tied for 1st on the team. The third leading scorer on his team? A whopping 14 points in 35 games. His team is truly bottom of the barrel. I think if he was playing on a contender there would a ton more talk about him.
