Brad Richards was underrated by too many fans during his time here and looked down on solely because of his contract. He's was probably my favorite Rangers over the past 5 years.

    We should have traded Lundqvist.

    Stole one of mine.

Despite being the backbone of this team for years, I would have never given Lundqvist that monstrous contract. Teams like Chicago have demonstrated that cups can be won with a good not necessarily elite level goalie.

Despite his maddening decisions, Tortorella was one of my favorite coaches to ever come here as well. The fact that he held players accountable for their actions, was a refreshing change of pace.

Rangers should have traded Nash and kept Gaborik.

I felt the same way about Lemieux. Far and away more talented (individually) than Gretzky.

Dubi never would have gone through the same scoring slump and would still be a Ranger, today, if Brad Richards hadn't been handed the 'A' over him, which was criminal.

We're better off without Brian Boyle.

Rick Nash was very good in the playoffs.

That one is mine. Hasn't been a cup won from a lights-out goalie run in years. It just doesn't happen anymore and we're living in the past.

I said unpopular opinions, not wrong ones.

I'm kidding, of course. Kind of.

I think Girardi does a good job of physically standing up for his teammates. Brian Boyle too when he was here.

I miss Roszival and thought it was a big mistake to let go of him. Gave up on him and he has been a solid top-4 Defensemen since leaving.

Up until last year, I didn't believe that Lundqvist could carry the Rangers to a cup, because of frequent softies in post season. After last year's run, and this season, I think the frequent softies won't be a problem going forward.

I liked Rozsival. Still do. One of the hardest workers in the game. He took a lot of shit after his surgery. His injury impaired his game big time. Wasn't given a fair deal by fans.

I agree with Phil ... I hated when Callahan scored.

I agree with Ray about Prucha.

I rooted extremely hard for Redden. I wanted him to succeed here.

Brendan Shanahan was the greatest short term Ranger ever.

Marian Gaborik was almost as useless in the playoffs for the Rangers as Rick Nash is.

    This, this and this 100%.

I'd even go so far as to say Shanahan needed to be named captain.

Look, I love the guy. He's my avatar, my favourite goalie of all time, and our King. But you're right. History speaks for itself. He's lights out for (most) of the regular season, and puts on a dedicated performance in the playoffs. Yet, I just don't know if we can justify his cost, in this era, with this salary cap. He's a part of this team who's impact is matched only by his cap hit, and I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do.

Looking at the past decade, it's hot goalies that win championships. The era of Patrick Roy and Brodeur is over, at least for now.

He could prove me wrong, and I hope he does. However, each playoff exit moves him one step closer to retirement, acting like a ticking time-bomb for this franchise. I worry that he'll be the Dan Marino of the NHL.

P.A. Parenteau didn't get enough time with the big club to show his potential here. Even if it was only for that season's team.
