Unpopular Opinions You Aren't Afraid to Share

Rangers-related, of course. The more "out there", the better.

You don't need to justify them if you don't want, and this is more for fun than it is argument, so let's try not to turn this into a massive debate over the minutia of a trade or free agent signing.

    I'll start:

I liked Donald Brashear and was only upset it took the Rangers as long as it did to get him on the team.

Well, I'll start this off with a bang...

Dan Boyle is a decent player when he's playing protected minutes

I really liked Nik Zherdev and was disappointed that they couldn't keep him.

I'm glad they got rid of Hagelin because I really disliked him.

    - Petr Prucha was trash and benefitted from getting 1st line PP minutes under Renney in the first post lockout year.

    - Tanner Glass is a good player, despite what the advanced stats say about him. Unfortunately, his salary is atrocious.

    - Dan Boyle wasn't as bad as people thought last year. It took him a while to get started for a variety of reasons (broken wrist, illness, age, not understanding the role), but he was steady enough in the last half of the season. Unfortunately, his salary is also atrocious.

I think Marek Malik was a good defenseman for us.

John Tortorella is my favorite Rangers' coach in my lifetime and I was hoping they'd build a mean team of assholes and goons around him.

    Dan Girardi is not overrated.

This guy gets it. Especially the second one.

He won me the fuck over after his between-the-legs shootout winner. Not because of what he did. Because of how he celebrated it. The way he just looked at the crowd like "That's right, bitches. You can worship me now."

I liked Malik too, but man that pass right down the middle of the ice vs. Buffalo will forever haunt me.

Jágr was the most talented forward to ever dress for the Rangers.

I freely admit — there were numerous times Callahan would score and I'd actually be upset because I hated his fans so much that I never wanted to see him succeed, even though it helped the Rangers.

I thought Staal or Stepan should've been captain over McDonagh.

I thought Sean Avery was a detriment to the club.

I had a Scott Gomez sig for at least a month to start the 2007 season on the old forum.
