According to Leslie Treff, the Rangers are pushing him to play for London in the OHL.

Better competition in the OHL versus Sweden U20, I'd think.

But wouldn't he be playing against men in Sweden?

He played for Djurgarden's J20 team in the SuperElit, which is Sweden's version of Junior hockey. Eliteprospects gives a better breakdown than hockeydb. He had a monster season in the Junior circuit. Not sure if he'd play for the big club next year, or if playing 4th line minutes with that big club is better than being a top OHL player and also adjusting to North American hockey.

He might be able to get loaned out to a second division men's club no? I'll ask my Swedish hockey guy.

i'm usually pretty impressed with how well prepared the swed's are when they come here. Especially from a defensive standpoint. Seems there well polished.

I don't love HF, but they do mention that Bernhardt will be playing in Europe for the next season or two. If he plays in one of the top two men's leagues in Sweden, it'll be good for his development.

    http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...-draft-review/

The Rangers were hoping that Bernhardt would play North American junior hockey this season, and in fact, Bernhardt was drafted by the OHL London Knights. However, prior to leaving development camp, he told the Rangers that he would be returning to Europe for at least one, and likely two, years of development.

Well, going to get a chance to compare it to the OHL. Bernhardt is heading to London.

Good for him, didn't seem to be playing much in Sweden. It'll be fun for him in London. Big crowds, lots of important games and lots of ice time.

Kinda dissapointed he didn't make the Swedish U20 team.

Completely fell off the map. I haven't heard anything about him and he's done squat offensively.

After the hot start he has 9 points in his past 37 games incl. playoffs.

I just wonder if it was his choice or if the Hunters didn't want to burn an import spot on him.
