Dude, I think you'd be hard pressed to find an NHLer that keeps the ear protectors on. I never leave them on, I know .... stupid, just like my 1/2 shield.

    Yeah you're right

Had no idea you could take them off.

I don't think anyone wears them unless they have an injury, stitches, etc.

With Game 7 of the Islanders-Capitals series being played Monday, Game 1 of the next round might be pushed to Thursday at Madison Square Garden, with Game 2 on Saturday or Sunday, depending on television network decisions.

Unless it's a long term thing, it looks like Zucc will have almost a week to recuperate before the next game.

I took mine off. I don't like the sound of keeping them on. Sounds like I'm in a tunnel.

Played with them on all my life. Never felt the need to take them off.

I've had the same helmet for like 12 years too.

A lot of guys still wear them — Pat Kane, Jussi Jokinen, Sidney Crosby, etc.

I bet less than 20 guys wear them league wide.

Yet still, if he got hit there with the protector off, he'd probably be bleeding like a mofo after that shot?
Just trying to gauge the extent of his possible injury, depending on where it hit him.

You really think you can get concussed, from that shot?

Yes, absolutely. It doesn't have to be a major concussion either. A lot of concussions can be fully recovered from in just a few hours or so.

people on HFB are claiming there's some serious news on Zucc but nobody is confirming anything

"@610Barstool: Hoping my random source isn't a real source...but I heard news on Zuccarello could be bad. "Out for a while" bad. #NYR should update later.”

“@610Barstool: @AdamNYR I was told "he's having enough trouble saying his own name". Sounds potentially bad enough to miss 6 weeks of remaining playoffs.”

Really hoping that's not the case

Larry Brooks ‏@NYP_Brooksie Rangers announce that Zuccarello will be sidelined indefinitely with upper body injury. It is suspected concussion.
