I am Scags Posted June 29, 2015 Share Posted June 29, 2015 I think that releasing it around the same time as San Andreas and Avengers didn't help the box office numbers, plus Mad max has always had a more dark and obscure theme to it that it really wasn't something I would see becoming a box office hit. The original Mad Max had a cult following that I'm sure attracted those fans back, but overall I never felt this would do all that great, even with Theron playing a huge part.
