In the market for a wireless (or long-cord) shutter release for a Canon D60.

    Can anyone help out?

Not that much if I can avoid a high cost, but it's sort of a requirement for what we want to accomplish (taking our own engagement photos).

Thing is, I've yet to see any of them priced for the D60, so I'm not sure what the cost range even is...

in the market for a digital camera. Not looking to break bank - but I want to get a decent quality piece. What are the things I need to be looking for? I know NOTHING about cameras.

She's a photographer. They're for both the photos themselves as a memory, as well as her portfolio.

First thing's first — what do you want to shoot? Do you think you may turn it into a full-blown hobby where you'll start to purchase lenses, or is this just standard point-and-shoot stuff?

You really want them? I'm sure Kris would be up for it, but I dunno what kind of time-frame she's got to work with since she's still in school.

    I don't want them, but I don't have a say.

    I'll let you know, though.

Canon PowerShot would be my suggestion if that's the case. Very solid design from the best digital photography company (still).

Look in your price range for the highest megapixels offered, and any extra perks like image stabilization, etc.

Shit has sick features. Facial recognition, smile detector (set the camera up on a tripod, it takes a photo of anyone smiling. You can get some great candid shots), front facing display. Really cool camera. All touchscreen, too.
