It just goes to show you though how vast the ocean really is, especially that part of the Indian Ocean where there are no major shipping lanes or sea traffic. For almost 600 days this piece of wing aileron floated and bobbed on the surface and not a single eyeball saw it until it washed up thousands of mile away on a beach. Just a vast open ocean of nothingness for thousands and thousands of kilometers
