What's the deal? Are we free to join? Is there a cap on the number of teams? Is there going to be a buy-in?

    Free to join.
Don't need to be an expert, just need to be ACTIVE.
Max teams set for 20. We wont get that many, but hopefully 10/12.

Join up, take a look at rules/settings. You can always make suggestions, in that sense, or delete team if its not what you want.

I don't think so, but if everyone wants to, we can add one.

I hate "4 points for TD" crap. If people want PPR, suggest it and if people want it, I'll make the change. It's basic Yahoo scoring, for the most part. Changes were 6pts for passing TD and max 2 transactions per week. I think I eliminated a bench position, too.

Im in. I vote for PPR and agree passing TD should be 6.

I vote that passing touchdowns should be 4. I've been in leagues where it was 6, and it's really just ridiculous. Every teams' leading scorer was their QB. Add to this the fact that there are a BUNCH of good QBs out there this year, and there's really not even any strategy involved. You could take a guy like Romo in Round 5 and do just fine. If it's 4 points per TD, there's a premium on the best QBs in the league, and now if you're picking 7th-10th in the first round, you have to seriously consider taking Brees or Rodgers over a guy like Rice or McCoy.

Think of it this way: you're lucky to get a RB or WR that will consistently get you touchdowns and yards. Let's say they have a great game and put up 100 rushing/receiving yards and a touchdown. That's 16 points. If a QB has a good game and passes for three touchdowns, he's already surpassed that amount at 18 points, and that's not even including the passing yards. In other words, a solid QB will consistently outperform the league's best running backs on any given week in fantasy, and that just doesn't seem fair.

I'm also in favor of splitting the difference on PPR and going 0.5. This way you don't HAVE to go by PPR rankings, but it's still relevant to have a RB who catches passes (like Sproles for instance) and a WR who sees a lot of targets. Like Danny Amendola in real life isn't a game-breaking talent. But he catches a lot of passes. In a full PPR league he'd be as valuable as some of the top 10 WRs. In a 0.5 PPR league, he's still relevant as a good WR2, but you won't be okay with having him as your WR1. In other words, it better emulates real-life value.

Something else to consider if we make passing TDs 4 points is having a two-QB format. Not a lot of people are fans of this, but I love it personally. Adds some strategy to the selection of your QBs. If it's a 10-teamer, pretty much every team in the league will have an absolute stud starting. But if it's two QBs, the top 20 are all relevant, and you have to decide whether you're okay with having one stud and one average QB, or two good ones. Pick one early and one late, or pick two in the middle? It also makes it fun to speculate on a QB backup that may develop in to a starter.

For instance, nobody owned Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick at the start of last season. A guy like Tannehill would NEVER be drafted this season in a 10 teamer, 1 QB format. But if it's two QB, every team will reliably carry 3 QBs, since it's just stupid not to have a backup. And then, if Tannehill finds success with his revamped receiving corps, he's not just sitting on the waiver wire all season because every team already has a legit starting stud. On some rosters he might force his way in to a starting position over a guy like Andy Dalton, you know?

    Anyway, long story short:
    1) I'd prefer 4 points for passing TDs
    2) I'd like to split the difference on PPR and go with 0.5
    3) I love the two QB format, but understand if nobody else goes for it

What does everyone think about the 0.5 PPR idea? It forces you to put a little more thought in to drafting, but doesn't make a guy like Darren Sproles a top 5 RB like full point PPR does.

I'm more receptive to .5 PPR than 4pt TD or 2 QBs

Well like I said, two QB isn't a very popular format. I wasn't expecting that to go over big. But honestly I'd consider the 4 points for passing TDs almost a must. Instead of QBs being the best player on every team, they're about equal with the top WRs and RBs. There is absolutely no reason why a guy like Tony Romo should be as valuable as Marshawn Lynch. That's an exaggeration obviously, but you get the point. If I were only allowed to suggest one alteration, it'd be the 4 points for TDs instead of the 0.5 PPR. The 0.5 PPR thing makes it more interesting and fun, but it's not a deal-breaker. The 4 points for passing TDs on the other hand is VERY important to me personally. We could even choose to split the difference, and instead of going with the Yahoo standard value of 25 passing yards per point, make it 20. Or even do 5 points for TD. But 6 is just way over the top, or at least it has been in the other leagues I've been in.
